Polyaspartic Acid
Polyaspartic acid is co-developed by Lebond and a top national university, with national patents and independent intellectual property rights.
Polyaspartic acid (PASP) has many functions such as scale inhibition, corrosion inhibition, dispersion, chelation, and moisture retention. Polyaspartic acid is an amino polycarboxylic acid with good biocompatibility and biodegradability, besides general characteristics of polycarboxylic acid. It is non-toxic, non-polluting, and has wide applications.
Scale Inhibitor
Polyaspartic acid is non-toxic, non-polluting, biodegradable, and green scale inhibitor. Its inhibition principle is that it can break up the crystal structure of dirt (calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, etc.) and make it softer. The softness of dirt is greater than the existing inhibitors such as polyacrylic acid and polyphosphoric acid. Research has shown that polyaspartic acid is characterized by good thermal stability and scale performance with low dosage. Polyaspartic acid, with a mass average molecular weight of about 4000, can inhibit calcium carbonate scale better than polymaleic acid and polyacrylic acid. When the mass concentration of Ca2+ is 1200mg/L, the inhibition rate of calcium carbonate scale can still maintain nearly 50%; when the pH is 10.5, the mass concentration of polyaspartic acid is 3mg/L, the inhibition rate can still reach more than 90%; when the temperature increases from 40°C to 80°C, the inhibition rate drops less with the rise of temperature. Therefore, polyaspartic acid is a good water treatment agent applying to water system with high temperature and high calcium ion concentration.
Corrosion Inhibitor
Polyaspartic acid is a good corrosion inhibitor. It can form chelate complex with calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and other ions, and attaches to the surface of metal containers to prevent metal corrosion, especially apply to preventing corrosion caused by carbon dioxide in oil pipelines. Polyaspartic acid with lower molecular weight can be used as a corrosion inhibitor for carbon steels. For example, polyaspartic acid developed , has a obvious inhibition effect on steel when adding up to 3% in volume (pH=10, 30°C).
Drilling Fluid Thinner
Polyaspartic acid can reduce the viscosity of drilling fluid. The lager the amount of polyaspartic acid added into bentonite slurry, the better the effect of reducing the viscosity. When the amount of polyaspartic acid is 0.4%, the viscosity reduction rate is 70.59%, meeting the chemical requirements of oil thinner. When the amount of polyaspartic acid added into the standard mud is 0.1%, the viscosity reduction rate is 70.51%; when the amount is 0.3%, the viscosity reduction rate is 79.49%. Polyaspartic acid also has better salt and calcium resistance.
Fertilizer Synergistic Agent
Polyaspartic acid has the function of chelation to metal ions. Adding the ppm level polyaspartic acid with the molecular weight from 2000 to 10000 into the fertilizer can significantly promote the crops to absorb many nutrients, such as N, P, K , Ca, Mg, S, Mn, Cu, and Fe. It shows that given the same quantity fertilizers, cereal production will be increased by 5% - 30% with the use of 0.015 - 3.6g of polyaspartic acid per square meters; given the same cereal production, the amount of fertilizer can be reduced by 1/2 - 1/3. It can not only greatly improve the ecological environment in rural areas, but also improve the soil, and reduce environmental pollution caused by the excessive use of chemical fertilizers. Therefore, polyaspartic acid has good economic and social benefits in the agricultural popularization and application.
Water Absorber
Polyaspartic acid with high molecular weight is very absorbent. It can be made into a strong water absorber by way of Y-ray radiation or cross linking. It can be used for super water absorbers, gelling agents, towels, diapers, mops and health care products. It can also be made into hydrogel with good reversible swelling and ion exchange resins used for biochemical separation.
Abrasive
As an abrasive, polyaspartic acid salt (molecular weight range: 5300 - 8000) can be used to produce refined mineral hydrous suspension, which is pumpable without deposit and rich in minerals. The average particle diameter of the suspension is less than three microns, and its brokaw's viscosity increases slightly as time goes by. It can still be used even being kept in the storage tank without stirring for a few days or weeks. The mineral hydrous suspension can be applied in the paper industry.
Detergent Additive
Polyaspartic acid can be used as a laundry detergent additive instead of sodium tripolyphosphate. It can not only effectively remove dirt and prevent fading, but also reduce and eliminate the pollution of phosphorus.
Inorganics Dispersing Agent
As a dispersing agent, polyaspartic acid can disperse inorganic pigment, kaolin, calcium carbonate, zeolite, titanium dioxide and other substances.
Polyaspartic Acid (Intermediate)
Polyaspartic acid (intermediate) is a biodegradable environmentally friendly water treatment chemical, as well as a corrosion and scale inhibitor. It can be used as an intensifier for absorbing nutrients in agriculture.
Polyaspartic Acid (Potassium Salt)
Polyaspartic acid (potassium salt) can absorb and accumulate a variety of soil nutrients, balance the absorption of crops, and improve the fertilizer efficiency. It can also restore soil vitality, break down soil crusts, reduce soil-borne diseases and improve the water and fertilizer storage capacity of soil. In addition, it can reduce environmental pollution caused by the excessive use of chemical fertilizers.
Polyaspartic Acid (Sodium Salt)
As a water-soluble polymer, polyaspartic acid (sodium salt) is a biodegradable environmentally friendly water treatment chemical, as well as a corrosion and scale inhibitor. It can be used as an intensifier for absorbing nutrients in agriculture.
