Polyaluminum Chloride
Properties
Polyaluminum chloride is an efficient low-power, inexpensive, non-toxic inorganic polymer. Its liquid appearance is colorless or yellow and its solid appearance is that of a white or light yellow powder or flake, soluble in water. The hydrolysis process is accompanied by electrochemistry, cohesion, adsorption, precipitation and other physical and chemical process. Polyaluminum chloride is applicable to a wider range of pH value, with larger flocculation kernel and faster settling velocity. It is widely used in drinking water, sewage as well as pharmaceutical, oil refining, oil exploration, printing, dyeing, textile and other industries for wastewater treatment.
Specification
| Liquid | Solid | |
|---|---|---|
| Alumina (%) | ≥10.0 | ≥29.0 |
| Basicity (%) | 40.0 - 90.0 | 40.0 - 90.0 |
| pH (1% Aqueous Solution) | 3.5 - 5.0 | 3.5 - 5.0 |
| Insoluble Substance (%) | ≤0.5 | ≤1.0 |
Usage
(1) Liquid products can be added directly or made into 5% - 50% of the aqueous solution; solid products can be made into 2% - 20% of the aqueous solution. When the content of alumina in the prepared aqueous solution is lower than 5%, it is best used up within 8 hours.
(2) For the drinking water, the liquid dosage is generally 5 - 30g/m3, and the solid dosage is 1 - 15g/m3. For the sewage and industrial wastewater, the liquid dosage is generally 20 - 100g/m3, and the solid dosage is 10 - 50g/m3. The specific dosage will be based on the COD, pH, SS and other indicators of water penetration determined through experiments.
Packaging & Storage
The liquid products are packed in polyethylene plastic barrel and the solid products are packed in 25kg braided bag lined with plastic bag.
Polyaluminum chloride is somewhat corrosive. It should be sealed and stored in a ventilated and dry place, avoiding rain, heat or sun. The liquid product's shelf life is 6 months, and the solid product's shelf life is 12 months.
